Purpose:
Plan, organize, direct, control and manage Motor Division as a Strategic Business Unit, with complete responsibility over manufacturing, sales and support functions, accountable for revenue, cost and profitability.
Job Description:
Strategic
It is a strategic leadership position responsible to Oversee SBU operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. The position is also responsible for the total value chain of the business with more customer focus which will bring high degree of customer satisfaction, high employee morale, developing and ensuring effective implementation of Business Plan at SBU level.
The position need to participate in strategic planning for the business unit, sets plant budgets, including PBT and capital expenditures and define performance goals for direct reportees. The position shall lead implementation of company operation policies, best practices and standard operating procedures to facilitate performance, grow profits and exceed client and company expectations, manage profitability of the division, and review revenue generation, analyze profit and loss statements and deliver key controllable expenses within budget targets to maximise productivity and profitability. The position should act as a mentor and provide coaching on vision and direction to the SBU management team, monitor and manage performance and develop strategies and people to achieve growth, service and financial goals.
Operational Manufacturing & Supply Chain
The position would also be responsible for monitoring production schedules and inventory of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with Design and CMO (Sales) to evaluate technical and financial feasibility of the products.  The position will also be reviewing department performance reports detailing production levels, raw material usage, down time and efficiencies and calculate overall plant production and efficiencies and ensure that approved products are manufactured on schedule and meet quality standards and cost objectives.
Operational Sales
The position is also expected to deliver in terms of driving and development of strong customer base, formulating and monitoring robust sales plan, supporting relationship management for key strategic customers, driving exploration of new markets and regions, assuring timely and accurate completion of all production schedules for timely dispatch of projects/ finished goods. The position shall ensure proper response to product quality complaints and monitoring the required corrective action.
Desired Profile:
The ideal candidate would be BE with MBA from a reputed Institute having minimum 20 to 25 years of experience in Manufacturing Industry with very good exposure to the electrical engineering industry. The person should be exposed to all areas of business from Manufacturing to Sales to Design in Motor and / or switchgear,  Industrial Pumps, and Gear industry. The candidate must have the experience of heading the Strategic business unit having turnover of not less than 100Cr with end to end responsibility of Operation to PBT. He should able to formulate strategies in terms of Sales and Manufacturing which will add to bottom-line of the organization. LTP & STP would be integral part of his profile. He should be able to lead a workforce of the size of around 500 employees (a mix of both white and blue collar). He should be enterprising & visionary personality who can anticipate change and proactively take necessary steps to cope up with the same. The candidate should have thorough understanding of concepts like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TQM,TPM, FMEA, SAP, BSC, Kanban, JIT, MRP, EVA, ROCE. He should be able to formulate strategic revenue and profit plans for Division and accordingly set targets for individual managers.
